Eight Month Anniversary: Wedding Brain

Just gonna to put it out there: I’m still not over my wedding. Maybe it’s because our special day was just featured in an online magazine or perhaps because we got our precious highlight video back (password: LindsayandEthan), or possibly because I received an update on my freeze-dried wedding bouquet, but regardless, I am still feeling wedding brain.

I admit that I still enjoy reading the wedding magazines that continue to show up at my door and sometimes review some of our beautiful photos before I go to bed. Some days, I run my fingers over our stationary and smile at the sweet notes left in our guest book. I laugh at some of my original ideas on my wedding Pinterest board and miss my registry discount when I make return trips to Crate & Barrel.

I love weddings. And everything that goes into them! And honestly, so do most people! But, why? Because they’re beautiful and elegant and unifying and bring people together to believe in true love. Is there really anything better? A perfect day with a thousand details, all to recognize the importance of solemn vows and pledges to make the world a better place, together.

We all know about the sadness in the world and about the hard work we should be doing to make a difference. But somedays, I like to think that difference can also be made by picking tablecloths and sampling appetizers and creating a seating chart. We are all made stronger by taking part in celebrating the love of others.

So, I’m still going to savor my wedding. I figure I get at least a year of newlywed bliss before I’m supposed to talk about other things. But even then, I’ll probably still be talking about my wedding. Because it was beautiful. And it was elegant. And it was love.

  8. Hey Lindsay! I don’t know if you do these type of posts, but I wanted to let you know that I nominated you for the blogger recognition award. To me it’s more about giving a nod to some of my favorite blogs rather than making them feel obligated to post. I thought you deserved the recognition! 🙂

  11. Hi, yes we have read all of the bad reviews and have seen the Channel 6 news report. All of this is why we are so nervous. Would you mind sharing any contact info you have for her? If so, please e-mail me at dallas_ellen@sbcglobal.net. Thank you so much for responding! Congratulations on your marriage!
